Once upon the time, when the fairies had not yet painted the world, that was completely black and white.

But, in this way, the Nature was very sad and so the fairies decided to give her the colors.

The colors ,obviously, began to quarrel about who was the best:

the Green said to be the color of the Hope
(il verde diceva di essere il colore della Speranza)
the Red said to be the color of the Love
(il rosso diceva di essere il colore dell'amore)
the Yellow said to give joy with its light
(il giallo diceva di dare gioia con la sua luce)
the Orange to give strenght and courage with its heat
(l'arancione di dare forza e coraggio con il suo calore)
the Blue to calm
(il Blu di dare calma)
the Indigo to give quietness
(l'indaco di dare tranquillità)
and the Violet a touch of liveliness
(e il violetto un tocco di vitalità)
and the colors continued their quarrel so that the sky began to cry and tearfully told them:
(e i colori continuarono a discutere così tanto che il cielo cominciò a piangere e tra le lacrime disse:)
"Don't you realize how important you are to each others? and how much the world needs each of you?
(non capite quanto siate importanti l'uno per l'altro? e quanto il mondo abbia bisogno di ognuno di voi?)
Without Hope human beings cannot live and Love is essential for all the hearts of the world.
(senza Speranza gli esseri umani non possono vivere e l'Amore è essenziale per tutti i cuori del mondo)
The Joy brightens the dark days, the strenght and the courage are necessary to face them.
(la gioia rasserena le giornate buie, la forza e il coraggio sono necessari ad affrontarle)
the Calm and Tranquility help us to fight and above all, the world needs liveliness otherwise everything would be monotonous and sad.
(la calma e la tranquillità ci aiutano a combattere e soprattutto, il mondo ha bisogno di vivacità altrimenti tutto sarebbe monotono e triste.)
The colors then realized their importance and clutching each other they embraced in an arc that made the sky smile.
(i colori allora capirono la loro rispettiva importanza e stringendosi tra di loro si abbracciarono formando un arco che fece sorridere il cielo.)
Since then, every time the Sky is sad and cries, the colors, now all brothers, with the help of the sun form an arc for it and everything shines.
(da allora, ogni volta che il Cielo è triste e piange, i colori, ormai tutti fratelli, con l'aiuto del sole formano un arco per lui e tutto si colora.)
and the world was no longer black and white.
(e il mondo non fu più bianco e nero)
